Tirupati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu reiterated his strong desire to develop Tirupati in all spheres and make it number one in the country. During his visit to the temple city on Saturday, he inaugurated ‘Digital Door Number’ (DDN) system in Tirupati, which is first of its kind in the country and addressed a public meeting.
The Chief Minister said the system was aimed at bringing all civic services to the doorstep of denizens with much ease. “This will take the governance to the next level as our officers or myself can monitor every aspect in the system with the click of a mouse through DDN. No one can evade from their responsibilities as I can be able to know at what time the garbage was collected from a particular house during the day”, he asserted.
Explaining his vision towards Tirupati development, Naidu said that SV Zoological park in the city will be further developed and a flyover from Alipiri to Zoo park is also planned. It will make people to visit Zoo park frequently and if they walk for 10 km everyday, it keeps them away from hospitals, he said. The green cover will be vastly increased in and around the city. “Though, I gave priority to technology during my earlier stint as Chief Minister, now I am giving preference to protect the nature. We are trying to interlink nature with technology which was the specialty in our government”, he maintained. He mentioned about ZBNF (Zero Based Natural Farming) and said that by encouraging this method AP will stand as a model to the world.
Chief Minister’s YuvaNestamprogramme will be launched on October 2and unemployed youth will get a dole of Rs.1000 per month. They will also be trained by Skill Development Corporation to make them get employment opportunities. The district has been getting several industries and the area from Tirupati to Sri City being developed as Industrial hub. The district will be getting water from various projects like Handri-Neeva, Galeru-Nagari, Balaji reservoir, Mallemadugu, Venugoplasagar, Somasila-Swarnamukhi etc.
``On the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2, awareness programmeswill be held in a big way to make people use public toilets and individual latrines. Cleanliness drive and plantation programmeswill be implemented. Government will encourage electric vehicles more in the coming days and Tirumala Ghat will have all electric vehicles,’’ he said.
Earlier, Commissioner of Municipal Administration K Kanna Babu said that DDN will have nine digits in which the first three indicate area code, next three street code and the last three house code. As long as the building is there this number will be there and will never change, just like Aadhaar number. A gazette notification on DDN will be issued soon and the system will be extended to all municipalities by October end.
Principal Secretary of Endowments and Forests G Anantharamu, District Collector PS Pradyumna, Minister P Narayana and MLA M Suguna also spoke at the public meeting. Minster for Industries N Amaranatha Reddy, TUDA Chairman G Narasimha Yadav, ZP Chairperson S Geervani, TDP district president P Nani,MLAs, MLCs and party leaders were present.
