Case booked for abusing cop claiming MLA’s supporters

Vijayawada: The two purported supporters of Government Whip and MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar were caught in a controversy here late night on Thursday.
According to witnesses, the two followers of MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar allegedly abused a constable in the city. The constable stopped their high-end vehicle at Bundar locks centre here for questioning over violation of traffic rules.
The vehicle crossed the traffic line at the signal post. The constable immediately stopped the vehicle and questioned them. An altercation ensued between the cop and the duo. The police took them into custody and shifted the vehicle to the Governorpet Police Station.
Meanwhile, Chintamaneni Prabhakar said that the two people, who were involved in controversy, were not his followers. He said that they were wrongly using his name. However, there is a sticker with MLA's name on the vehicle.
