Vijayawada: Finally, the long pending demand of the denizens of One Town will be realized soon as the construction for setting up of Rythu Bazaar and Mee-Seva centre were started at Wynchpet Colony. The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation has allotted 400 square yards site for the construction of a building.

Ground and first floor will be used for Rythu Bazaar and second floor for Mee-Seva centre. In all, 16 shops will be built for Rytu Bazaar and second floor will be used for Mee-Seva centre. Office room and toilets will be constructed in the proposed Rythu Bazaar. Site engineer SVA Rajendra said the works are going on at a brisk pace in 400 square yards.

The proposed Rythu Bazaar will be beneficial to thousands of people living in the Old City because they can buy veggies at a low price compared to other markets like Kaleswara Rao market and other retail traders in the city.

There is a lot of variation in prices of vegetables being sold at Kaleswara Rao market and Rythu Bazaars of the city. Though the quality of vegetables at Kaleswara Rao market is very good the prices are not within the reach of the common man. Prices of almost all vegetables are high at K Market compared to Rythu Bazaars.

Residents of Wynchpet, Kothapeta, Mahantipuram, Foreman Bungalow Colony, Old RR Pet, Kamsalipet and other areas will be benefitted with the setting up of Rythu Bazaar at Wynchpet as they can purchase vegetables at low prices.

Till now, these families living are depending mostly on retail traders for veggies. These traders are selling vegetables at high rates because the customers have no option but to buy from them only.

The nearest Rythu Bazaar for these areas is Swarajya Maidan Rythu Bazaar which is about 5 to 6 km. Consumers are reluctant to go to Swarajya Maidan due to distance, hence, they are dependent upon retail traders. With the setting up of Rythu Bazaar in the Old City, consumers will be benefitted a lot, said
