Amaravati: Assuring no dearth of jobs for skilled graduates in the State, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday launched the Mukyamantri Yuvanestam scheme, whichwould benefitaround 2.1 lakh unemployed youth in the state. He called upon all the eligible youth to apply anytime for benefits.

The Chief Minister said that the programme was not intended to turn the youth into vote bank for TDP, but to strive for their welfare only. He observed that the youth should make use of the scheme to undergo skills training wherever required and become job-ready. They could also hone their skills and take government support to turn entrepreneurs.

The Chief Minister revealed that verification of 2.10 lakh out of 6.12 lakh enrolled youth was already carried out, by crediting one rupee each and the full amount will be transferred within a couple of days.

On the occasion, the CM interacted with students and exhorted them to set big goals in life and strive their best to achieve them. Across the state, MLAs, MLCs and others participated in the launch of the programme which was simultaneously held across the State. On the day, around 2.1 lakh certificates were issued to the beneficiaries.

Under the programme, an unemployed youth will get a monetary support of Rs 1000 per month. In addition, the government would assess their aptitude and provide required edge by training suitably. It would also enable them to get apprenticeship and training at various industries.

For those interested in self-employment, programmes would be designed accordingly. CM specially urged the youth to become job-providers rather than job-seekers. Addressing the youth, Naidu spoke of information technology revolution and urged them to take to fourth industrial revolution (4IR) technologies viz., Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence (AR) and others.

He said India was on the cusp of becoming knowledge economy. The demographic profile also would help it harness the new technologies. The average age in the country would be 29 years by 2029. The CM assured that the AP government would streamline universities and design curriculum to meet the industry needs globally.

The CM also used the occasion to apprise the youth of state government efforts to woo industries on a large scale to the youth. He cited the example of setting up of Kia Motors in Anantapur district and Foxcon unit at Sri City and Brandix in Visakhapatnam district.

He informed that around 19,000 vacancies would be filled up, ensuring transparency without giving any scope to corruption. Later the Chief Minister released AP youth policy document. Ministers Nara Lokesh and Kollu Ravindra, Chief Secretary Anil Chandra Punetha, Special Chief Secretary LV Subrahmanyam and others were present.
