Rajamahendravaram: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) Rajamahendravaram Asset organised a Swachh Walkathon from its dispensary in Prakash Nagar to ONGC office in connection with 150th Gandhi Jayanthi here on Tuesday, as part of Swachh Seva Fortnight.

ONGC Rajamahendravaram Asset executive director DMR Sekhar flagged of the walkathon and said ONGC was committed to the vision of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

as envisaged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. ONGC was putting in efforts to reach its goal in Swachh programme in coordination with district administration, he added.

An amount of Rs 75 crore was spent under Corporate Social Responsibility during the last three years in the domains of health, education, Swachh Vidyalaya, Swachh Godavari, women empowerment etc.

A financial assistance of Rs 67,92,465 was given to government headquarters hospital for the construction of Namma toilets and medical infrastructure and Rs 1,48,169 also given to Rajahamhendravaram Municipal Corporation for setting up of litter bins, children play equipment, Namma toilets and solid waste management collection units.

ONGC employees, members of ASTO, PEU, AISCTEWA, AIOBC and MOBC, WDF, SPF, students of Kendriya Vidyalaya and others participated in walkathon.
