Vijayawada: The members of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) demanded that the government take action on the accused (Jagaiah Naidu’s wife) for the death of a Dalit boy N Varun on September 28 at Amalapuram.

Addressing the media here on Thursday, BSP State president P Ravi alleged that no action was taken till now, as the accused was the sister-in-law of Home Minister Chinnarajappa.

He recalled that the Dalit boy Varun was playing near the house of the accused along with his friends.

To drive away the children playing near the accused house, she provoked her trained dog on the children to attack them.

The dog attacked Varun and his friends. To save his life, Varun ran and climbed the railing of Yerra Kaluva.

The dog attacked the boy on face and hands while hanging to the railing and the boy fell into Yerra Kaluva and died.

BSP state general secretary Sampath Rao along with the boy’s parents lodged a complaint against the sister-in-law of Home Minister.

The police assured Sampath that they would take action in 48 hours. However, without taking action on Sampath, the police arrested Sampath and put him behind the bars.
In this regard, Ravi demanded that the government take stern action against the accused and release Sampath unconditionally.

He also asked the government to take action on the police officer for not taking action on the sister-in-law of Home Minister and for arresting BSP state general secretary Sampath.

BSP vice-president B Pushparaj, state secretary Karunakar Das and others were present.
