Model Skill Development Centre opens at ITI in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) in association with Johnson Controls Hitachi (JCH) Air Conditioning India Limited inaugurated Model Skill Development Centre at Government Industrial Training Institute here on Friday.
This initiative by the company would make the youth more skilful and more employable, said APSSDC MD and CEO K Sambasiva Rao.
He said that the Vijayawada centre was the second in the state. The first centre was inaugurated at Kakinada on October 10.
The centre would offer courses in AC repair and maintenance with duration of three months.
The syllabus will be provided by Hitachi and the certification will be done jointly by Hitachi and APSSDC, said Rao.
Gurmeet Singh, Chairman and MD, JCH said these centers will be providing training which will enable unemployed youth and school dropouts to take up the AC technician course (AC repair and maintenance).
The trained technicians can be employed by any AC dealer/company or even generate self-employment avenues for themselves.
He said that in the next phase. They would have centers in Nellore, Anantapur and Vishakhapatnam by end of next year, Singh added.
