Philately exhibition inaugurated in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: As part of ‘National Postal Week’ celebrations from October 9 to 15 and to mark ‘National Philately Day,’ a philately exhibition was inaugurated by K Balasubramanian, Chief Postmaster General of AP Circle at his office at Krishnalanka here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Balasubramanian appreciated all the school children who participated in Quiz competition and announced the winners of the competition.

The Quiz competition was held across the state for school children in phases and the 12 students were shortlisted and the winners were given prizes.

First prize was won by K Yasashvini and a cash prize of Rs 10,000 was given, second prize V Jyothiraditya with Rs 5,000 and third prize was won by V Vikranth with Rs 2,500.

A letter writing competition was also held for the postal staff on the topic ‘Letter to My Motherland’ at the Kishnalanka circle post office.
The winners will be declared later. The winner of first prize of the letter writing completion will get Rs 25,000, second prize Rs 10,000 and third prize will be Rs 5,000.
