Guntur: The fourth Additional Junior Civil Judge Court, Guntur imposed 2 years rigorous imprisonment and Rs 20,000 penalty to the accused for keeping veterinary physician samples and for rejecting to give the records related to the samples to the then Guntur Urban Drugs Inspector P Mallikarjuna Rao.

The court pronounced judgment to this effect. According to the Assistant Director of Guntur District Drugs Administration, the accused Tallam Ramesh, who is running M/S Nagarjuna Agencies at Kothapet in Guntur city, kept 48 types of veterinary physician samples including tablets, syrup and injections and the latter rejected to give necessary records and information to the officials.

Based on that P Mallikarjuna Rao ceased veterinary physician samples and booked a case under Drugs and Cosmetics Act Section 65(18) and 22 (A).
After conducting trial the court imposed 2 years rigorous imprisonment and Rs 20,000 penalty to the accused Tallam Ramesh and Rs 20,000 penalty to M/S Nagarjuna Agencies.
