Vijayawada: Delivering the inaugural address of the Suminfra-2018 on ‘Infrastructure: India’s Growth Driver-Challenges and Opportunities’ organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry here on Friday, N Amaranatha Reddy, minister for industries, food processing, agri business, commerce and public enterprises, said that government had adopted mission-based approach to achieve sustainable double digit growth.

Referring to the industrial development, Amaranatha Reddy said that Visakhapatnam–Chennai Industrial Corridor and Chennai- Bangalore Industrial Corridor offer ample opportunities for setting up of industries in the state.

Under Visakhapatnam-Chennai corridor, four industrial nodes namely Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Kankipadu-Gannavaram and Yerpedu-Srikalahasthi have been identified for the development, he added.

On the construction of Nadikudi-Srikalahasti railway line, the minister felt that it would accelerate industrial development in backward districts. The proposed metro rail projects in Visakhapatnam and Amaravati would have great impact in creating world-class infrastructure in the state. He also said that government of Andhra Pradesh was building new capital city-Amaravati-with world-class standards.

He urged the investors to take advantage of the opportunities available for investors to invest in Amaravati. Explaining the the proactive business environment in the state, Amaranatha Reddy said that Andhra Pradesh was ranked number one in ease of doing business for many years and also delivers reliable and quality power across the industrial, commercial and domestic sectors in the state.

D K Sen, chairman, CII-SR Suminfra 2018, director and senior executive vice-president (Infrastructure) of the multi-national Larsen & Toubro, in his theme address said that Suminfra offers the opportunity and platform to present and project the opportunities available in the infrastructure sector.

He was of the view that building quality infrastructure helps in improving productivity, bridging connectivity gaps, reducing distribution and trade costs. S Chandrasekhar, managing director of Bhoruka Power Corporation, Suresh Chitturi, chairman of the CII were present.
