Vijayawada: Commissioner J Nivas instructed the sanitary officials to segregate household waste and take all measures for the free flow of drain water by clearing garbage in side canals and culverts which were the breeding grounds for mosquitoes and ordered the sanitary workers to take up anti-larva operation.

The commissioner on Tuesday, as part of the inspection, visited Madhuranagar, Pasupu Thota, Mutyalampadu, Durgapuram, Sambamurthy road and others places.

He inspected the de-silting works at outflow drain near railway station road and Pasupu Thota area. He instructed the workers to clear garbage under the culverts for the free flow of drain water.

Later, he visited water tank road at Madhuranagar and Mutyalampadu internal roads and inspected the segregation of garbage from houses and gave a few instructions to the workers.

He expressed his dissatisfaction on the workers for not segregating wet and dry garbage. He instructed the officials to train the new workers on segregating garbage and transform the division as bin-less division.

Later, he visited division Nos 43 and 44 and inspected the door-to-door marking of micro packet survey personally and gave a few suggestions to the officials on the occasion.

Health officer Dr Babu Srinivas, Biologist A Nooka Raju, deputy executive engineers Narayana Murthy, Ganga Raju and sanitary workers were present.
