Vijayawada: Two employees of Kanakadurga temple were suspended for their involvement in corruption in purchasing of mementoes during the Dasara festival celebrations.
Memo was issued to temple assistant executive officer Achyuta Ramaiah also on the issue. Durga temple executive officer (EO) V Koteswaramma issued orders on Sunday suspending record assistant Sunita and contract employee Saida.
The suspended employees purchased 1,200 mementoes for giving to winners and participants in cultural programmes during the Dasara celebrations. But they showed the number of mementoes as 2,000 in records of the temple. The EO conducted an inquiry and suspended them after issuing the memo to the AEO.
