Ongole: The Prakasam district police received the second prize in ‘Above and Beyond Call of Duty’ (ABCD) awards announced by the Director General of Police, RP Thakur. Home Minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa presented the awards to the Singarayakonda police personnel at Police Headquarters in Vijayawada on Monday.

Chinarajappa presented the ABCD award to Singarayakonda Police Station CI P Deva Prabhakar, SI Nagamalleswara Rao, FPB SI V Brahmaiah, Head Constable G Prasad, Constable S Mahesh and Tanguturu Police Station Head Constable A Vinod Kumar for solving a murder case that was pending for 13 years.

The police team used Papillon Automated Finger Print Identification System to find the culprit in the murder case of Raghuramaiah, a car driver. The Home Minister presented the awards with a certificate and cash prize of Rs 25,000 to each of the police personnel.

SP Bhusarapu Satya Yesubabu announced that the Prakasam district police received eight ABCD awards, including the one on Monday, since the induction of them.

He said that Ongole sub-division received three awards, Chirala sub-division received two awards, Darsi, Markapur and Kandukur received one award each. He appreciated the Singarayakonda police officials and asked the others to take inspiration from them in delivering best service in duty.
