Anantapur: With hardly 4-5 months for the forthcoming Assembly elections, TDP is gearing its party machinery well in all the constituencies in the district.
Minister for Woman and Child Welfare Paritala Sunitha representing Raptadu, local MLA V Prabhakar Choudhury and Tadipatri MLA Prabhakar Reddy are ahead of others in their efforts to connect with people.
TDP MLC and chief whip in Legislative Council Payyavula Keshav is likely to be chosen as candidate to Uravakonda constituency where he had lost to YSRCP candidate Visveshwara Reddy in 2014 polls. He was later nominated MLC and made chief whip in the Legislative Council.
Keshav is confident of TDP coming to power in 2019 elections and is likely to be given party ticket to contest from Uravakonda. But YSRCP sitting MLA Visveshwara Reddy's calculations are different.
He feels that the wave is in favour of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and he hopes that he would be re-elected again. Payyavula Keshav was instrumental in mobilising crowds to Chief Minister’s recent visit to Uravakonda and the latter was impressed with the crowds.
Anantapur MLA V Prabhakar Choudhury, who is a good strategist has been working actively and is well connected to the people. He created a personal vote bank of 50,000 who supported his leadership.
