Vijayawada: Minister for Law, Sports and Youth Services Kollu Ravindra appealed to the fishermen to attend the Jayaho BC meeting organised at Rajamahendravaram on December 30. He was addressing the fishermen from the 13 districts at his camp office in the city on Saturday. The Minister said that it was the TDP government which strove hard for the development of the fishermen community. The fishermen who venture into the sea are being given diesel on subsidy, old-age pension after crossing 50 years and necessary equipment for fishing on subsidy, he recalled.

He appealed to the community leaders to organise meetings at their respective places with at least 5,000 fishermen in each meeting. The meeting for Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and East Godavari districts would be held on December 23, for West Godavari, Krishna and Guntur districts on December 24, for Nellore and Prakasam districts on December 26, for Kurnool and Anantapur districts on December 27 and Chittoor and Kadapa districts on December 28. Kakinada MLA Vanamadi Kondababu exhorted fishermen to support Chandrababu Naidu who had been striving hard for the development of fishermen. APCOB chairman Challa Rao, former chairman Polisetty, Nadikuditi Arjuna Rao, Kokkiligadda Ramesh, Nayakar and several fishermen community leaders were present.
