Chittoor: District Collector P S Pradyumna has instructed all the departmental heads to be on alert as cyclone Phethai to make landfall between Ongole and Kakinada on Monday afternoon. He stated that the district will witness heavy rains on Sunday and Monday due to impact of cyclone.
The Collector directed the MROs to take precautionary steps like shifting people living in low-lying areas to safer places and set up temporary shelter homes.
He asked DEO to take a decision whether to run or declare holiday on Monday after assessing severity of the cyclone. It may be stated here that there was no impact of the cyclone on Saturday in Chittoor district.
