Bhimavaram: The students who prepare projects with new ideas would be provided with internship, said Akash Sinha, technical team leader of Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation while addressing the students of SRKR Engineering College here on Saturday.

The Technology Centre of the college organised a national-level competition on innovative designs under Spardha 2K18 on the college premises. The winners in the competition were presented with cash prizes in a meeting which was chaired by head of Technology Centre Dr N Gopalakrishna Murthy.

Akash Sinha said that several opportunities would come their way to the students with innovations and they should be ready to grab them.

College correspondent and secretary Sagi Vithal Ranga Raju suggested that the students should not confine themselves to books but should focus on innovations which are useful to society.

Technology Centre head Dr Gopalakrishna Murthy said 26 teams including 50 girls and 77 boys from all over the State participated in the competitions.

Vice-principal Dr KVN Raju, Maharshi Consultancy CEO Srinivas Varma, MCR Solutions CEO M Suresh Babu and Pinnamraju participated.

The first prize of Rs 12,000 was bagged by BK Pavan, MLS Roshini, KC Bharati and P Lakshmi for preparing technologies and tools, and the second prize of Rs 9,000 was secured by G Mahidhar, P Harshavardhan, G L Sravanti, K Bhargavi and KNS Vani for making a smart vehicle.

The team comprising A Krishnakant, AV Navin, PT Sai, K Anil Kumar and Jaswant Chowdary secured third prize of Rs 6,000 for creating travel app.
