Eluru: Mayor Shaik Noorjahan has said the city is being developed into smart city by spending Rs 160 crore.
Participating in Janmabhoomi programme here on Wednesday, the mayor said the city was being given a facelift with the coordination of local MLA Badeti Bujji.
She informed that as against 11,000 pensoners who used to get Rs 200 by the time the TDP came to power in the city, the number has now increased to almost double and the pension amount was also increased to Rs 1,000.
About 750 eligible persons would also get pension in a day or two.
Stating that the local administration was giving top priority to education, the mayor informed that all the corporation school were being developed on par with corporate schools.
