Rajamahendravaram: Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai has advised the people to enroll themselves in the voters’ list which was very important. Everyone in the country should have a vote which is compulsory, she said.

Addressing the gathering at the Pushkar Ghat after participating in 3K Run, she said vote was an invaluable weapon and asked the voters to use it judiciously. It is the duty of the voters to elect good leaders who works for the people.

She underlined the need to conduct more awareness camps on the importance of vote and its usage.

Sub-collector CM Saikanth Varma asked the students to enroll themselves in the voters’ list as they are the future citizens of the country and to elect efficient and honest leaders. The government was very much particular in this regard and giving importance in this regard, he added.

Corporation Commissioner Sumit Kumar said many voter enrollment centres were opened in the corporation office and appealed to the people to enroll themselves, especially students and youth. Vote was a powerful weapon in the hands of people to elect right persons to rule them, which
is the need of the hour, he said.

Earlier, the run was conducted from government college to Pushkar Ghat campaigning about the importance of vote.
