Man climbs cell tower over family dispute
A person created flutter in Naidupeta town on Thursday morning by climbing a cell tower He threatened to commit suicide by jumping off it if his family dispute was not resolved Police and relatives of the person rushed to the spot and requested him to get down from the tower The person was identified as Y Prasad from Butlakanupuru village of Ozili mandal in the district
Nellore: A person created flutter in Naidupeta town on Thursday morning by climbing a cell tower. He threatened to commit suicide by jumping off it if his family dispute was not resolved. Police and relatives of the person rushed to the spot and requested him to get down from the tower. The person was identified as Y Prasad from Butlakanupuru village of Ozili mandal in the district.
According to sources, Prasad is having disputes with his wife and he lodged a complaint against his wife with Ozili police. Cops tried to counsel them few days ago. But, Prasad, who was upset with the family disputes went to BSNL tower near Naidupeta Railway Station and poured petrol on himself and immediately climbed the tower despite warnings of the local people.
Passersby, who noticed this, informed to Naidupeta Police and they reached to the spot and appealed to him that they would resolve the issue soon. With the assurance of police, Prasad got down from the cell tower. Police shifted him to Naidupeta government hospital for treatment.
