‘Houses to Polavaram evacuees by March’

Eluru: District Collector Praveen Kumar directed the officials to complete the houses for the Polavaram project evacuees by March.

He was participating in a review meeting on various pending projects and rehabilitation works here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector emphasized the need to compete the housing units for families displaced by Polavaram project on a war-footing. He asked the officials to work with proper planning to finish the targets in stipulated time frame.

If they clear the bills of the construction companies on time, they would be happy to speed up the works. The officials need to work in coordination with the concerned departments to finish the works at the earliest, he said.

Praveen Kumar ordered the officials to submit details of land acquisition, compensation payment and progress of works relating to Chintalapudi lift scheme.

He also directed officials to settle the issues related to land acquisition for urban housing.

The Collector reviewed Andhra canal, Errakaluva, Pogonda and other projects with the officials on the occasion.
