Chittoor: Triangular fight seems to be inevitable for Chittoor Assembly seat as YSRCP chief Jaganmohan Reddy has given green signal for all the sitting legislators of the district. J Srinivasulu is the official candidate for YSRCP whose efforts for the last five years yielded good results.
Sources reveal that D A Satya Prabha, sitting TDP legislator is likely to get the nod from Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu while former Congress MLA C K Babu declared that he will contest from Chittoor as an independent candidate.
There will not be considerable impact of BJP, Janasena or left parties, it is felt. It is to be noted that YSRCP state general secretary P Ramachandra Reddy played a crucial role in the district in the selection of the sitting legislators for the ensuing elections. In the elections in 2014, YCP had won 8 seats leaving the remaining 6 to it’s nearest rival TDP. N Amaranatha Reddy, Industries Minister (Palamaner) defected to TDP from YCP.
Sitting YCP legislators P Ramachandra Reddy ( Punganur), C Ramachandra Reddy (Piler), R L Roja ( Nagari), C Bhaskara Reddy (Chandragiri), K Narayana Swamy (Gangadhara Nellore), Dr.Sunil ( Puthalapattu ) and Dr.Thippa Reddy ( Madanapalli ) would stake their claim again in 2019 polls. As was assured earlier by YCP chief earlier, Chandramouli will contest from Kuppam. He was earlier defeated by Chandrababu Naidu. Adimulam, an SC candidate of YCP will contest from Satyavedu, it is said.
