With the latest Indian Air Force (IAF) strikes at the terrorist camps across the Line of Control (LoC) in the early hours on Tuesday. The IAF has conducted the attacks as a counter to Pulwama terror incident in which 40 CRPF jawans have sacrificed their lives.

As Andhra Pradesh has the longest coastal corridor of 978 km from Srikakulam to Nellore districts a high alert is issued.

The East Godavari district Collector and state port director incharge Kartikeya Mishra said that we are on the advisory of Indian Navy and Coast Guard on the security aspect.

Speaking to media on Tuesday, Collector Kartikeya said, as of no specific communication were received regarding the security issues.

He said that the Cargo vessels(ships) are moving as usual. No specific instructions were given to fishermen over venturing into the sea.

Meanwhile, Kakinada Port officer Dharma Sastha said that they are on the alert since last three days as per the directions of higher authorities.
