Vijayawada: Assistant Commissioner of Police Sri Lakshmi has stressed upon the need for collective efforts to check the crime against women. Participating in an awareness meeting organised by NGO ‘Bhumica Women Collective,’ at the Social Services Centre, Gunadala in Vijayawada on Wednesday, she briefed about the laws dealing with crime against women and role of police and NGOs.

Bhumica Women Collective Founder K Satyavati lamented over the incidents of crime against women and girls. She said NGOs were playing important role in creating awareness on protection of women. Child Welfare Committee member BVS Kumar, AP State Commission for Child Rights chairperson G Hymavati, representatives of NGOs, volunteers and others participated.
