Forza Motorsport 6 takes it seriously when it comes to cars, and despite the game having varied themes; its new DLC pack contains nothing but new cars. According to IGN, for a minimal fee of $7, players will get a hand of the seven new cars featured on the DLC pack. For Car Pass owners, they can get the new cars for free.
The Mobil 1 Car Pack is composed of seven new cars that are never before seen in any series of the Forza Motorsport.
This even includes the ultra-rare Koenigsegg One:1.With just 6 units hand-built at the company's Angelholm, Sweden, facility, and all of them sold despite the steep $2.4 million asking price, this will probably be your best shot at taking one for a joy ride on the track.
The Koenigsegg One: 1 gets its name from its power-to-weight ratio and its 5.0-liter V8 engine produces no less than 1,341hp when running on E85 fuel. Aside from the Koenigsegg hypercar, the other contents of the Forza Motorsport 6 Mobil 1 Car Pack for December include:
- 1988 Holden VL Commodore Group A SV -- mid-size muscle car from Australia
- 1963 Ferrari 250LM -- won the first and third place at the 24 Hours of Le Mans
- 1990 Chevrolet #30 Douglas Shierson Racing Lola T90/00 -- used by Arie Luyendyk when he won his first two Indianapolis 500s trophy
- 1991 Mazda #62 Mazda Motorsport RX-7 -- driven by Pete Halsmer when he won five 106 IMSA races
- 1958 Plymouth Fury -- popularised in Stephen King's novel ‘Christine’
- Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe -- the latest high-performance coupe from Mercedes Benz
The game developer also introduced optional microtransactions for Forza Motorsports 6 that will use in-game tokens. This will allow players to purchase more cars or avail of new modifications and other accessories without having to level up through ranks.
If you're wondering why the Koenigsegg One: 1 is so popular in the game, it's because of its ability to accelerate from 0 to 250 mph (402kmph) in just 20 seconds. Technically, the Koenigsegg One: 1 can rack up a maximum speed of 273 mph (437kmph) for players who dare to plunge in.
Previously, Latin Post featured the “Forza Motorsport 6” venturing on the microtransaction trend. The idea was first rejected by Bill Wendl of Turn 10 Studios, saying, "The only way microtransactions would come back is if someone from the lifecycle, players are asking for it, just as an option or something like that." However, it didn't take long before the studio adapted the feature.
Forza Motorsport 6 is a video game based on car racing and is currently developed by Turn 10 Studios. It is published by Microsoft for the Xbox One and is currently the sixth in the Forza Motorsport series. The Forza Motorsport 6 was launched worldwide on September 15, 2015 and has a nomination for “The Game Award for Best Sports/Racing Game.”
If you haven't been updated with the game, now is the time to think about investing on the game's new DLC pack and get the best car racing deal so far.
From 0 to 250mph (402km/h), the world's first "megacar" needs just 20 seconds and can go up to a top speed of 273mph (439km/h).
