Now, this month Maruti Suzuki has commenced exports of Suzuki Baleno to European markets, where the car is due for launch in a few week’s time. Official European debut will take place tomorrow at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

Maruti Suzuki is using Adani Group’s Mundra Port in Gujarat for the exports. European countries which will receive the new Suzuki Baleno in the first lot include Germany, Poland, Belgium, Slovenia, Spain, and Italy.

Exported units of Suzuki Baleno from India. Source – Zauba.com.New Baleno is a mid-size five-door hatchback which was first launched in India last year. Exclusively manufactured in India by Maruti Suzuki, Baleno is going to be exported to over 50 countries globally.

Export-spec Baleno has same exterior and interior as to the one on sale in India. But, the engines are different. In India Baleno is offered with a choice of 1.2-liter petrol and 1.3-liter diesel engine option. Both mated to a 5 MT. Whereas in Japan and Europe, Baleno gets 1.2-liter petrol engine with SHVS tech mated to either a CVT or 5MT. Apart from this, export spec Baleno also gets a 1.0-liter BoosterJet engine.

In India, Maruti Suzuki will launch the BoosterJet engine powered Baleno later this year in the form of Baleno RS, which was showcased as a concept at the 2016 Auto Expo.
