Rigidity has been improved by 28%, which makes the car structurally stronger and better to drive. Compared to the older XF, new XF is shorter in length, inspite of that, interiors are more spacious than before, thanks to a 51 mm longer wheelbase.

Jaguar India revealed on their website that the XF for India will be offered with 2.0 liter Ingenium diesel engine generating 180 hp and 430 Nm. Mated to an automatic transmission, Jaguar XF diesel can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 8.1 seconds.

Along with the diesel, a 2.0 liter petrol engine will also be on offer. This engine will deliver 240 hp and 340 Nm torque. Mated to an automatic transmission, Jaguar XF petrol can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 7 seconds.

A total of three trims will be on offer – Pure, Prestige and Portfolio. Jaguar XF diesel will only be offered with the Pure trim, while Prestige and Portfolio will only be offered with XF Petrol.

Where on board features are concerned, the 2016 Jaguar XF Pure trim gets cruise control, bi-xenon headlamps, leather seats, dual zone climate control, 8” touchscreen, and electronically adjustable front seats. Prestige trim also gets memory function for driver seat, leather cover for steering wheel and perforated leather seats. Portfolio trim gets 14 way adjustable front seat, 18 inch alloys and much more.

Once launched, the new XF will rival the likes of BMW 5 Series, Mercedes E Class, Audi A6, and Volvo S60. Price of the new Jaguar XF is expected to start in the range of INR 50 lakh, ex-showroom.
