aceHyderabad: Consul General Katherine Dhanani of the US Consulate General Hyderabad has presented Microsoft India Chairman Bhaskar Pramanik an ACE special citation which honors US corporations with offices abroad for their commitment to the local community. The Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE) was established by the US State Department in 1999 to recognize the key role US businesses play abroad as good corporate citizens promoting democratic values worldwide. "Microsoft India was selected because of its work with people with disabilities, community service, and its commitment to the environment through energy saving products and the LEED certified energy efficient building we're in now," said Katherine Dhanani. "We are honoured. Microsoft's mission is to help people and businesses realize their full potential and in India, aligning with the country's priorities has helped define our focus areas," said Bhaskar Pramanik. Microsoft has the distinction of occupying three of the 11 worldwide spots for this year's ACE award (Microsoft Egypt, India, and Thailand). "This award sends a strong signal of the Department's commitment to further corporate social responsibility, innovation, exemplary practices, and democratic values worldwide," said Dhanani.
