Renault Lodgy MPV launched

French auto major Renault launched Lodgy, marking its foray into the fast-growing multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) segment in India. Available with diesel engine only, the Lodgy is priced from Rs 8.19 lakh to Rs 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The vehicle comes in seven variants. At the heart of the Lodgy is a 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine offered with two states of tunes - 110 PS and 85 PS. The top-end 110 PS plant generates 245 Nm torque with fuel economy rated 19.98 km/l as per ARAI numbers.

The engine is paired with a six-speed manual. The 85 PS engine, paired with a five-speed manual, produces 200 Nm torque. It delivers 21.04 km/l mileage. Lodgy has a ground clearance of 174 mm. It will compete with the likes of Toyota Innova, Maruti Ertiga, Honda Mobilio and Chevrolet Enjoy, which are priced in the range of Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 15.8 lakh. "Lodgy would fuel our next phase of growth in India. With this vehicle, we will define MPV segment in the country," said Renault India Country CEO and MD Sumit Sawhney.
