IIT Bombay felicitates Rana Kapoor for Exemplary Contribution to Fostering Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in India
The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) felicitated Mr. Rana Kapoor, Managing Director & CEO, YES BANK for his “Exemplary Contribution Fostering Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in India” at The Entrepreneurship Summit 2016 organized by the Entrepreneurship Cell of IIT Bombay, India\'s largest Entrepreneurship promoting student body.
Mumbai: The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) felicitated Mr. Rana Kapoor, Managing Director & CEO, YES BANK for his “Exemplary Contribution Fostering Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in India” at The Entrepreneurship Summit 2016 organized by the Entrepreneurship Cell of IIT Bombay, India's largest Entrepreneurship promoting student body. It caters to an audience of more than 100 thousand directly through its initiatives with each exceeding to over 1 million students, corporates, Entrepreneurs and HNIs' PAN India.
Mr. Rana Kapoor also delivered the Valedictory Keynote for the E-Summit 2016, speaking about the role of Design, Innovation and Creativity led Entrepreneurship (DICE) economy in driving India’s growth. The award was conferred by Professor Anant T Kusre, Faculty Advisor, IITB Entrepreneurship Cell. This honor is an acknowledgement of Mr. Rana Kapoor’s exemplary contributions in promoting the entrepreneurial ecosystem in India. The citation mentioned Mr. Kapoor's inspirational journey as a model entrepreneur and his stellar role in the development of a vibrant entrepreneurial culture, to felicitate him for“Exemplary Contribution to fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem in India”.
The award given by IIT Bombay also recognized that Mr. Rana Kapoor, in many ways, was a pioneer in employing 'Knowledge' as a key differentiator in the financial services sector. He started YES BANK through a differentiated knowledge driven approach with a special focus on the sunrise sectors of India, such as Food & Agribusiness (F&A), Healthcare, Education, Infrastructure, Hospitality, Media & Entertainment and Renewable Energy.
The Entrepreneurship Summit at IIT Bombay is a platform for students, budding entrepreneurs, start up founders, leading corporates, venture capitalists, business leaders and investors to come together and share thoughts on entrepreneurship. This edition of the Summit had a theme of “The Global Melange” as it looked to explore global trends in entrepreneurship.
