Order food on rail travel via OMitra
OMitra, the first rail social app, incubated at the International Institute for Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad has developed food ordering app for the rail travelers. The app, which was already launched as a networking platform for the travelers on a particular train, now adds the services of food delivery option, a release said.
A start-up from IIIT-Hyderabad introduces food ordering facility for train travellers
Hyderabad: OMitra, the first rail social app, incubated at the International Institute for Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad has developed food ordering app for the rail travelers. The app, which was already launched as a networking platform for the travelers on a particular train, now adds the services of food delivery option, a release said.
The food delivery option is provided in the app helping the travellers to choose their favourite cuisine and order it from any specific station en-route.
It has collaborated with 6 major food suppliers that cater to the railways with a host of offerings numbering over 2800+ dishes prepared at over 650 different restaurants across 300+ stations in India.
These food suppliers include TravelKhana, KhanaGadi, RailRestro, TrainMeals, TravelersFood, Express food Service.
Responding to the launch, OMitra co-founder, Vikas Jagetiya, “There are incidents we have come across where people go hungry because unable to find food to their liking or downright unable to place their orders. Such instances gave us the vision to add food services to our existing app. Now travellers need not worry about the food and can order any cuisine of their choice”.
Using the App, during his trip, the user can browse through a huge selection of food items (both veg/non-veg) and place order to be picked up from any station of his choice. Besides, OMitra offers various features like PNR alerts, wake-up alarm, automatic live updates and many others.
