pdsuTirupati: The automotive giant from Japan, Isuzu Motors, has entered into agreement with the Andhra Pradesh government to establish it Rs 1,500 crore car manufacturing unit at Sri City Special Economic Zone (SEZ), near Tada. The unit is coming up in an area of 110 acres in the SEZ and production may commence from 2016. The plant will produce 50,000 sports utility vehicles (SUV) and D-MAX range of pick-up trucks every year. The project will come up with 100 per cent concession on payment of value-added tax from the State government. The ISUZU has fixed an ambitious target of producing 1.20 lakh vehicles every year and export 40,000 vehicles to various countries and to market the remaining 80,000 vehicles in India. Speaking to media persons here on Sunday, Sri City Special Economic Zone (SEZ) managing director Ravindra Sannareddy said that the plant will create about 60,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities." He said Rs 5,000 crore worth development activities were witnessed in the SEZ till now.
