Trisha opposite Puneeth Rajkumar in Dookudu Kannada remake

Remember Trisha? The pretty lass who was once the most sought after actress in Tollywood was last seen in the Telugu film Dammu.

The actress who lives in Chennai also has several Tamil films to her credit. Of late, she's not made an appearance on the big screen at least in Telugu. We hear the actress is looking forward to her next Telugu flick Rambha Urvasi Menaka to hit theatres.

Meanwhile, there's good news for the fans of Trisha. If reports doing the rounds are anything to by then Trisha is all set to enter Sandalwood. Yes, you got that right. The pretty actress who's worked with all the top actors of Telugu and Tamil film industries will make her Kannada debut too with a top actor.

Sandalwood is abuzz with talks that Trisha has been roped in by Kannada director Madesh to reprise the role of Samantha in the Kannada remake of Dookudu. And like we said the hero is the big Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar.

Mahesh Babu's Dookudu changed the star status of its leading lady Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Hope the Kannada remake too will help Trisha get back to her position in the Southern cinema.

But why did the director choose Trisha? Well, Madesh says the kannada audience are very much familiar with Trisha as Telugu films release on the same day in Karnataka too. Also, there's a lot of craze for Telugu movies in Karnataka.

This is not it. we hear that SS Thaman who scored music for Mahesh's Dhookudu has been roped in to score music for the Kannada version too.
