Dasari hits out at Charan’s film

Speaking at the teaser launch of Naga Shaurya and Avika Gor starrer, ‘Lakshmi Raave Ma Intiki’ on Monday in Hyderabad, director-producer Dasari Narayana Rao, who is known for his outspokenness, lashed out at the way the industry is operating currently. “Industry is in its worst shape at present. I never expected this situation in my wildest dreams. Though small time producers are ready with their films, they are not getting theatres to exhibit them. People with money and power are not giving small films their due; only if their films are not releasing they are giving small films a slot. Gundagiri and monopoly is ruling the industry and it’s a fact,” he said.

He also came down heavily with the way Gopichand-starrer ‘Loukyam’ was replaced in the theatres. “It did open to good talk but to facilitate another star hero’s film it was replaced in 37 screens across the two states.

However, as the star hero’s film failed to rake in the big moolah, ‘Loukyam’ made its way back,” he said in an indirect reference to Ram Charan’s early October release ‘Govindudu Andarivadele’. It’s an open secret that Dasari and Charan don’t meet eye to eye.

He further added, “The screens of both the states are under the possession of powerful personalities, so it’s better that ‘Lakshmi Raave Ma Intiki’ producer Giridhar goes according to a plan to release it.”

Dasari also said that it’s time for more youngsters to enter the industry. “I want youngsters who have no background to come up on their own in the industry.

Actors like Mohan Babu, Murali Mohan, Srihari and Narayana Murthy made a mark without taking anyone’s help. Unlike these days, there were no restrictions during 70s and 80s.”
