Tanu Weds Manu 2 a real sequel

With Kangana Ranaut and R Madhvan reprising their roles, producer Krishika Lulla feels ‘Tanu Weds Manu 2’ will redefine the trend of sequels in Bollywood.Krishika said contrary to the perception about Bollywood reboots, the latest version of Anand L Rai’s hit 2011 film of the same name will present an original sequel.

“‘Tanu Weds Manu 2’ is an extension of its previous part. It’s actually a real sequel where Kangana and Madhvan are again playing the lead roles. It continues where it ended unlike the sequels we have in Bollywood where either the storyline is changed or the leads are replaced with other actors,” Krishika said.

The new movie is currently in the shooting stage and is left with its Haryana schedule in April after finishing elaborate filming in Lucknow.‘Tanu Weds Manu 2’ is slated to hit theatres on May 22.“Script is the hero in the second season.

Our aim is to make the part two better than the first one though I loved the first movie. Now we are just left with its final leg of schedule in Haryana in April and some final work in Mumbai,” said Krishika, who produced other Bollywood hits like ‘Raanjhnaa’ and ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela’ amongst others.
