Opening his speech in the Telangana dialect much to the delight of his scores of fans, actor Allu Arjun turned out to be the cynosure of all eyes at the soundtrack launch of ‘Rudhramadevi’ on Sunday evening in Warangal, the capital of the erstwhile Kakatiya empire. The actor who plays Gona Gannareddy in the film said that many people questioned his choice of featuring in the film.
“I didn’t reply to them because I knew they wouldn’t believe my motive. The reason that made me do the film is Telugu cinema – I love Telugu cinema and it’s my life. If it reaches a step higher because of my efforts, I will be more than happy.
And irrespective of whether I feature in a particular film or not, I will feel proud if the standards of Telugu cinema keep rising,” said Arjun to a rousing reception from his fans.
Looking dapper in a black suit paired with black trousers, he also heaped high praise on the film’s maker Gunasekhar. “Cinema is his first priority and he is extremely passionate about it. He eats, breathes and sleeps cinema.
Though our earlier collaboration ‘Varudu’ didn’t do well, I was a spectator to his work ethics; during the making itself I wanted to do another film with him. I was sure that his efforts will reap benefits. ‘Rudhramadevi’ should do great business for his sake.” Talking about Chiranjeevi, he said, “We rose to the top from his shadows.
As far as I’m concerned, everyone takes a backseat for him – he comes first for me. I remember him saying once, ‘It’s easy to hurt people but it’s difficult to find a place in their hearts’. I took his words.” He ended his speech by mouthing a dialogue from the film.
