Nina Dobrev, lead star of popular TV drama The Vampire Diaries is set to bid farewell to the show after 6th season. The 26-year-old actress, who filled the role of Elena Gilbert, took to Instagram to share a picture with TVD creator and showrunner Julie Plec, and wrote, "I always knew I wanted Elena's story to be a six season adventure, and within those six years I got the journey of a lifetime."

Dobrev reminisced some of the show's craziest plots, and invited fans to celebrate with her by watching the finale of the season to say goodbye to her character. She thanked her fans for their love and support, asking them to fasten the seatbelts for she was ready to give them a lot more with her future projects.
