AP Film Chamber to blacklist Mastan Vali

Hyderabad: The Andhra Film Chamber of Commerce is all set to 'blacklist' dubious producer Mastan Vali, who produced Telugu film "Prema Prayanam." Mastan Valli is a notorious red sanders smuggler and is now behind bars. "It’s shameful to admit that he was a member in producers sector of our AP Film Chamber of Commerce and we are sad that a few people are tarnishing the image of the entire Telugu film fraternity," rued Vijayender Reddy, executive member, Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber of Commerce.
"Now that we got to know that Mastan Vali is arrested for indulging in smuggling , we would blacklist him," he added. Despite having 1000-odd producers, the chamber receives application for producer membership, every other day and it is difficult to assess a person’s credentials, so the industry bigwigs have decided to make membership fool-proof. "From now onwards to get a producer membership would be as difficult as getting a passport.
The chamber is working out modalities to adopt this new method to curb lumpen elements," Reddy pointed out. The Telugu Film Producers’ Council also faced a few problems when cops landed at their doorsteps to get more details about a few dubious producers who were caught in illegal acts. "We faced problems with a few dubious producers,” laments Mohan Vadlapatla, joint secretary of the Council.
