Nawazuddin has been breaking a mountain for 15 years: Ketan Mehta. Director Ketan Mehta said that nobody could have played the titular role in ‘Manjhi - The Mountain Man’ other than Nawazuddin Siddiqui, since his 15-year-long struggle in the industry was nothing less than breaking a mountain.

At an event in Mumbai Mehta said, "Even Nawazuddin has broken a mountain in his life. A man who has halied from a small village and established his position in Bollywood is like breaking a mountain for 15 years to reach this level.
"Nawazuddin is the best actor of his generation which everyone believes nowadays. Secondly, his physical type also perfectly matches with Dashrath Manjhi, on whom this film is based. Manjhi too, was a short man with a lean physique. The intensity in him was amazing; especially in his eyes and that same intensity can be seen in Nawazuddin's eyes.
And this intensity has pulled him to this level today," added Mehta. Nawazuddin started his career with blink and miss roles in films like ‘Sarfarosh’ and ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ before making his impression in films like ‘Kahaani’ and ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’.
His last film was ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, co-starring Salman Khan. Radhika Apte is paired alongside Nawazuddin in ‘Manjhi- The Mountain Man’, scheduled to release on August 21.
