Brahmanandam’s son Gautham, who is yet to find a strong foothold in the industry, has signed his next. The actor will be seen in a crime comedy to be directed by Ramesh Desina, Gautham Menon’s protégé.

After playing guy-next-door roles till now, Gautham, Talkies has learnt, will be seen as a thief in the feature.
Sources say that the promising actor has agreed in principle to play the role and that he will be pitted against Nara Rohith in the film.

“When Ramesh Desina narrated the script, Gautham liked it to the core. He was impressed with the way his character was etched before giving his verbal nod.
He has never essayed a role like this and his antics will be one of the highlights of the film. It's a fun-filled drama that has crime and comedy woven into the script in equal proportions,” a source close to the actor points out.

Nara Rohith, according to another source, will play a cop in the film. “Rohith, like Gautham, was thrilled with his characterisation. It’ll be unlike the cop roles that he has essayed in his earlier films like ‘Rowdy Fellow’ and ‘Asura’,” added the source.

The pre-production work has begun and the film, which has been titled ‘Vaadevadu’, might go on floors depending upon Rohith’s availability as he has four projects lined-up to shoot for next year.
