The Police officials in the Telugu speaking states have expressed concerns over the Telugu title ‘Policeodu’ of Tamil film ‘Theri’, starring Vijay. Respecting their objections, producer Dil Raju, who is distributing the film in Telugu, has decided to rename the film as ‘Police’.

“A few police organisations raised objections over the title stating that their feelings were hurt. We respect those sentiments and we have communicated the same to the original producer Kalaipuli S Thanu who was more than happy to change the title.
The film will now be released as ‘Police’", said Dil Raju. Atlee, who shot to fame with 'Raja Rani', has directed the actioner that also features Samantha and Amy Jackson.
