Just In
When I entered the industry I did not knew how to plan my career and went on a signing spree. I randomly signed films without looking at the quality of script, eventually causing my career to go on a downward spiral. The ‘Nandamuri’ tag only helped me to enter showbiz but after that I was required to sweat a lot. I know people have written me off because I don’t have success but I believe in mysel
For someone who stepped into filmdom 15 years ago by signing seven films on the day of his debut film launch, thereby achieving a unique feat, having only 14 releases till date seems to be appalling. But Taraka Ratna admits that he was in a hurry in the initial days. “When I entered the industry I did not knew how to plan my career and went on a signing spree. I randomly signed films without looking at the quality of script, eventually causing my career to go on a downward spiral. The ‘Nandamuri’ tag only helped me to enter showbiz but after that I was required to sweat a lot. I know people have written me off because I don’t have success but I believe in myself and can bounce back,” he thunders.
Tarak’s forthcoming film ‘Raja Cheyyi Vesthe’ alongside Nara Rohith will see him in a negative role, similar to what he played in ‘Amaravathi’, which fetched him the coveted Nandi award. “A couple of years back, I realised the necessity to play roles that are realistic and unique. I decided to open up myself and accept new roles and took up ‘Raja Cheyyi Vesthe’. The role is not a conventional baddie but there’s a lot more to him in terms of personality.”
But isn’t the realisation a little too late? “Nothing is late in the industry; in fact, better late than never,” he smiles, “I enjoyed working with Nara Rohith and we share great camaraderie off the screen too. This film brought us even closer.”
His equation with uncle Balakrishna and cousins NTR, Kalyan Ram has been healthier than ever. “I have cordial relations with Balayya uncle and I seek his advice occasionally. I also hang out with NTR. Just because we are not spotted together doesn’t mean that there’s a rift,” Tarak spells out.
The actor says his wife Alekya Reddy is his support system. “She has been my motivation and the driving force. She believes in me and keeps encouraging. But after becoming a father I have changed a lot and became more composed. Fatherhood changed me a lot and I became more responsible. I like to spend a lot of time with my daughter and I want to make her proud of my films,” reveals the doting father, signing off.
