Actor-filmmaker Srinivas Avasarala says he wanted his second directorial, ‘Jo Achyutananda’, to be different from that of ‘Oohalu Gusagusalade’ and so took his time to come up with a compact script. “While ‘Oohalu Gusagusalade’ was a pure love story, ‘Jo Achyutananda’ is more of a bromance.

However, it has a nice love story too, with two brothers (played by Nara Rohith and Naga Shourya) falling for the same girl (Regina). The first half will transpire in 2010-2011 while the second half will unfold in modern times,” he points out.

Avasarala admits to Nani’s cameo in the film, which is scheduled to open this Friday. “Yes, he is playing a cameo and you have to watch the film to find out his role,” he smiles, revealing that his next directorial will indeed star Nani, his best friend from the industry. “’Gentleman’ has shown the other side of Nani and my film with him should be a step above it. I have shared a storyline with him and the discussions are on.”

Avasarala, who would be shooting for ‘Hunterr’ Telugu remake next, where he would be reprising Gulshan Devaiah, insists that he is very clear when it comes to striking a balance between acting and direction. “Whenever I decide to don the director’s hat, I will not take up any acting assignments. Now that I’m done with ‘Jo Achyutananda’, I will go back to acting again,” he laughs wide.
