‘Asura’ helmer Krishna Vijay is producing the film, a dark drama

Satyadev, who received glowing reviews for his portrayal of an auto-rickshaw driver Shiva in Prakash Raj’s ‘Manaoori Ramayanam,’ is playing the lead in ‘Asura’ director Krishna Vijay’s production venture. This would be the second time that the lanky actor would be playing a central role in a film. He was cast as Charmme’s romantic interest in Puri Jagannadh’s ‘Jyothi Lakshmi’ last year.

Being directed by Vinay, Krishna Vijay’s project with Satya is 30 per cent through. When contacted, Vijay said, “We wanted to complete the film by December but as Satya’s another project requires him to be out of the country for some time, we are targeting to wrap up our film by February end next year. It’s a dark drama and majority of the shooting would take place in Hyderabad. Satya is playing a league level cricket umpire in the film.”

When asked why he chose to invest on Satya who is yet to establish himself as a hero, Vijay noted, “We are banking on the content to do the trick for us and moreover, he is a good artiste. We needed a fresh yet identifiable face for the script and he was apt for it.”

About Satya’s pair in the film, he said, “We have a couple of Mumbai girls in mind but haven’t locked in on anyone. The working title of the film is ‘Le Le Na Raja’.” So, when would he get back to direction? Smiling, he said, “I’m occupied with production ventures such as ‘Appatlo Okadundevadu’ and ‘Needhi Naadhi Oke Katha’. Once I’m done with them, I’d shift focus to direction.”
