Hotshot star Naga Chaitanya claims to be fascinated with Filmfare Award from his childhood as it encourages talent and also gives big exposure to the actors. He describes joining hands of Jio and Filmfare as a heady combination since it gives more mileage to film fraternity.
Reigning star Naga Chaitanya who is basking in the success of his latest release `Rarandoi Vedukka Chuddam’ was looking cheerful and took questions from media with consummate ease. “Yes. I’ll be getting married on October 6 with Samanta,” says the actor, who confirmed the news that was making rounds on the social media for quite some time.
“I would love to do a film with Samanta but we haven’t found the right script yet since good content is key and not the combination’’ he quips. The scion of Akkineni family claims that he has been fascinated with Filmfare Award from his childhood. “For me since I was a kid, I admire Filmfare magazine as well as Filmfare Award since it inspires actors like me to scale new heights.
It is getting better and better by the day and I think Jio and Filmfare combination is the perfect bonding as it gets us more exposure.” He claims that his name is always listed in nominations but the award has been eluding him.
Nevertheless, he is hopeful of bagging the coveted award this time around since he is nominated in the best actor category for his rivetting performance in `Premam’ but he has competition in the backyard. “My dad and actor Nagarjuna is also nominated for his performance in `Oopiri’.
On one hand, I am glad to be in the league of my dad, on the other, wary about tough competition,” he adds. He describes the situation of father& son vying for the same award as unique. “It’s been a while since father and son vied for best actor in T-town, but truly a new experience for me,’ he stressed.
On rising cost of production, he suggests a profit-sharing module between actor and producer to reduce risks like in Bollywood .
