If Chennai sources are to be believed, hotshot Rana Daggupati has reportedly walked out of his upcoming period movie ‘1945’ (Madai Thiranthu in Tamil) being directed by Sathya Siva over the issue of dubbing Telugu rights. Touted to be a period flick set in the pre-Independence era, it will have Rana sporting a completely different look.

The lanky actor plays a soldier in the Subhash Chandra Bose led army Azad Hind Fauj (Indian National Army). Pairing up with Rana in ‘1945’ happens to be Regina Cassandra who will be seen as a Chettiar girl.

While the Telugu version is titled ‘1945’, its Tamil version is titled ‘Madai Thiranthu’. Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing tunes for this flick. The film is bankrolled by SN Rajarajan under the banner K Productions. “It is true that Rana has put the film on hold since he has a dispute with producers.

Actually, the Telugu dubbing rights were supposed to be given to Rana as part of his remuneration, but the Tamil producer sold dubbing rights to producer C Kalyan without informing Rana about the deal to earn the ire of the young actor,” says a reliable source in Chennai. No doubt, the ‘Ghazi’ star is having a great time at the box office with blockbusters like ‘Nene Raju Nene Mantri’ and doing a big-ticket multilingual film ‘Haathi Meri Saathi’ with the tasteful filmmaker Prabhu Solomon.
