The major element of the movie is the beautiful bond that NTR and his wife Basavatarakam shared. Only a few of the people know about NTR's love and affection towards his wife. But the movie showcased it in a beautiful way. The movie the movie not only starts with Basavatarakam but also goes from her point of view. How did a normal registrar from Nimmakuru make it big in the film industry? is showcased in the film and the movie ends with the political party announcement.
Balakrishna is undoubtedly the show stealer for this film. His magnificent performance is undoubtedly the major attractions of the film. Though he didn't suit well for the 20-year-old NTR, Balakrishna looked perfectly apt for NTR's role in the second half. He has recreated some of the important and popular getups of NTR and he looked mesmerizing in Lord Krishna's role. Vidya Balan is also one of the plus points for this film. She is truly an asset because of her beautiful performance. The way she carried Basavatarakam's role is commendable. Kalyan Ram as his father Harikrishna did a decent job. Though the screen time is less for Rana, he delivered a decent performance. The rest of the characters like Rakul Preet, Prakash Raj, Naresh, Hansika, Payal Rajput delivered good performances.
Director Krish did an amazing job in scripting and narrating. His beautiful way of executing the story will definitely impress the audience. He will walk away with most of the credits because of his engaging storytelling capabilities. Music by MM Keeravani is very soothing sometimes and peppy in some scenes. His background score is also captivating and added a lot of depth to the scenes. Dialogues by Sai Madhav Burra are well-written. They are not too dramatic but elevates the image of NTR well. Editing by Arram Ramakrishna is good. The costumes and makeup department did a splendid job in putting makeup for the actors. Cinematographer Gnana Sekhar VS' camera work is superb.
For all the people who thought that 'NTR Kathanayakudu' is only about NTR's journey in movies, there is something more than that. The best part of the film that it showcased some things which only a few people knew about NTR's film career. The engaging screenplay and gripping script keeps the audience stick to the chairs. The movie starts on an interesting note.
The first half is good and entertaining too. The interval scene is too good. The second half is a lot more intense and engaging when compared to the first half. On the whole, NTR is a must-watch movie to know and learn from the successful journey of a legend.
