Children pestering their parents to buy them clothes for festivals is not uncommon. To get what they want, kids often throw tantrums and try every trick in the book including starving and protesting. However, a minor boy in Kurnool took an extreme step to protest against his parent's decision to not buy him new clothes.
A teenage boy allegedly committed suicide in Kurnool by consuming pesticides for not getting news clothes for New Year's Eve. The suicide victim has been identified as Krishna(14). He was the only son of Ranganna and Savithri, residents of Gorantla. Krishna asked his parents to buy clothes as all his friends had got new ones.

It is learnt that his parents turned down his repeated requests saying Krishna has to make do with old clothes. The parents supposedly reasoned with the kid saying they were not in a position to buy new clothes as they had suffered heavy losses due to the failed crops.
Unconvinced and dejected by the response, Krishna consumed pesticides. He went to the school as usual but attended the class without telling his friends that he consumed pesticides.
Later students informed about it to the teacher who admitted him to a nearby hospital. But Krishna died while being treated at the hospital.
