Gachibowli: Techie alleges rape attempt in case on ORR

Hyderabad: In a similar vein of last year’s Hyderabad based Nirbhaya case, even before it was forgotten by the people, another incident took place in Hyderabad on Friday morning. A Hyderabad based techie has been assaulted sexually by an unknown miscreant. The victim has been working as a software engineer and resides in Himayat Sagar. She reportedly went to a temple at Khajaguda in Hyderabad on Friday morning. She failed to lock the car doors before visiting temple. When she came back after the darshan and got into the car, already a youth was sitting on the back seat of the car. She tried to shut the door. But, she had to restrain her act by self, as she was frightened by the youth with a knife. She had no other option than getting into the car.

The girl was asked to follow Outer ring road. Later the accused occupied the front seat on Gachibowli-Shamshabad road. The victim sent a message to her friend to help her while she was driving. Her friend in turn alerted the police control room and in turn they alerted the patrolling vehicles. The victim kept her phone on.

Based on the mobile signals, the route followed by the car could have been traced by the police. The car was parked by the girl on the instructions of the accused on Himayat Sagar road where she was allegedly raped by the accused.

By the time the police reached there, the accused has run away from that place. Later, the accused has been taken into the custody and was learnt to be rushed to Rayadurgam police station and from there to a secret place to interrogate.

So far, the police have not commented anything on this issue. A case has been booked under Nirbhaya act. It is not known as of now whether the accused is known to the victim or not.
