Yadagirigutta: A second-year M Tech (Computer Science) student of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, Boga Sravan (25), who hails from Raghunathpuram village in Nalgonda district, allegedly committed suicide by hanging at his hostel room on Monday.

According to Registrar T K Ghoshal, the body was found hanging from the ceiling in the morning. Police investigation is on.

However, the official refrained from speculating on the circumstances of the death, saying they were waiting for the police report. The motive was stated to be his failure in the campus interview.

Son of Boga Yadagiri and Susila, Sravan was a topper in all examinations. After securing a good rank in the Intermediate exam he completed engineering in Srinidhi College. He was selected by IIT Kharagpur after securing the first rank in engineering.

Additional Superintendent of Police of Kharagpur B Chandrasekhar said that it was found that the campus placements of the final-year students of M Tech were held recently and Shravan got a job in the placement, but the job was not up to his expectation. He was reportedly disheartened by it, the cop said.
